Earlier this year, together with Ghilardi+Hellsten, we were prequalified for the parallel study for the urban development of Fosnavåg in Norway. On the 27^th of April the results of the study were presented for the Herøy Kommune.

Our plan focused on defining a new compact urban center around an intimate central harbor, while simultaneously opening up new opportunities for the greater harbor. Different residential typologies are introduced: from dense urban blocks to developments reinterpreting the traditional Norwegian coastal architecture, to even repurposed existing built stock. Special attention was given to intimate and protected public spaces which mitigate the harsh Norwegian coastal climate. At the same time a landscape strategy was put in place for the surroundings, including a network of public routes and punctual interventions in the landscape.
