On the 19^th of January, The Leuphana University of Lüneburg celebrated the topping-off of its Central Building, with music and speeches. Along with the board of Trustees and Presidential Committee, Lower Saxony Minister for Sciences and Culture, Dr. Gabriele Heinen-Kljajic and Architect Daniel Libeskind addressed the large turnout of representative from business and politics. The new building is regarded as a milestone in the university’s progress and seen as a driving force for the entire region.

Karres+Brands won the competition for the design of the campus public space earlier in 2010 as is now working together with the client to prepare all drawing documentation for the execution phase. Completion of the building is expected in 2016, with the public space to follow shortly after.
