karres+brands to Design Randwick Health Precinct Master Plan in Sydney

Earlier this year karres+brands won the commission to provide design services for both the Greater Randwick Urban Master plan and the Randwick Academic Health Sciences Centre Master plan, in the context of the Prince of Wales Hospital Redevelopment in Sydney. In a consortium combining world class health architecture expertise of BVN and strategic consultancy insight of Terroir, karres+brands will act as masterplanning and urban design experts.

Health and knowledge precincts are public spaces and this project in particular will have the ability to develop an important civic space within Sydney that engages with and enhances the connections to the University of New South Wales Kensington campus and the surrounding neighbourhoods and town centres. The precinct has the opportunity to provide a great place of knowledge, research and innovation in addition to being an attractive workplace, a vibrant quarter of learning, and a safe and tranquil space for health and well-being.

In coming years the Randwick Health Precinct is expected to continue gaining significant interest from the local and international health community. In this context, Health Infrastructure aims to provide all the conditions for a stimulating and innovative environment that attracts, supports and provides world-class integrated healthcare alongside research and education.

In order to provide optimal design services, karres+brands has set up a dedicated project team in Sydney.
